Contemporary Lake Home
This North Idaho lake residence was designed to take advantage of the spectacular lake and mountain views as well as meet the needs of a large family. The contemporary lodge design is accented by exposed timber trusses and columns, cedar siding, natural cherry cabinets, doors and trim, high cedar ceilings, plaster walls, and rocky mountain granite fire places. The residence exudes warmth throughout with its cherry woodwork, rich wall colors, stone counter tops, tile floors, and cedar ceilings. The hydronic heating system maintains even temperatures throughout the residence and keeps the paver-covered driveway clear of snow and ice. Sleeping areas consist of a large master suite, four bedrooms for the children and a bunkroom for sleepovers. A state of the art sound, lighting, and home automation system was installed to provide complete control of the house. To accommodate guests, a one bedroom guest house is accessed by a connected bridge and stair tower. A natural drainage area on the site was enhanced as a water feature and relocated under the bridge to the guest house. The water feature serves a dual function of controlling runoff in the spring and becoming a water feature in the summer through a series of ponds.
