St. Anthony Tri-Parish Catholic School
The Three Catholic Parishes in Casper Wyoming had outgrown their existing PreK-9 school and were looking to construct a new school to meet their growing needs. Longwell + Trapp Architects was selected for this PreK-9 project due to our 10 years of value engineering K-12 education facilities throughout the State of Wyoming. The Parishes requested a traditional, catholic school design with brick and stone, cornices, arches and stain glass windows. The building is a two story design for the classroom wings and also includes a full size gymnasium, a multi-purpose room with a stage, a chapel, full service kitchen, and an administration area. The building is highly energy efficient through the use of daylighting and lighting controls, a ground source heat pump system for heating, additional insulation in the walls and ceilings, and high efficient windows.
In Wyoming the typical school costs between $250 and $325 per SF with funding for construction provided by the State of Wyoming. Our firm was selected due to our ability to design a cost effective school as private schools do not receive any funding from the State. The final cost for St. Anthony’s was $175 per SF, well below the average for Wyoming public schools.
